Professor of Innovation & Entrepreneurship | Founder & President, Singularity Academy | Executive Chair, Verus Care Group | Physician of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Prof. Dr Ir. Ying Zhang is an academic and organisational leader whose work focuses on innovation, human capability development, and systematic wellbeing system design. She integrates scientific research, educational innovation, and clinical practice to build models that strengthen individuals, families, and institutions in an increasingly complex global environment.

​

She leads two interconnected organisations:

• Singularity Academy, a global learning and research institution developing personalised, human-centred education models and capability-building solutions for learners at different stages of life; and

• Verus Care Group, a psychiatry and psychotherapy medical care group with three clinics in Germany providing systematic wellbeing support for adults, children, and families. Verus Care Group is one of the few clinical systems in Europe that structurally integrates adult and child psychiatry into a unified, relational, and nature-oriented therapeutic framework.

 

Her interdisciplinary training spans engineering, economics, innovation science, computer science, and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Before founding Singularity Academy, she served as Associate Dean and Tenured Professor of Innovation & Entrepreneurship at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (Netherlands), where she directed the China Business Centre and contributed to research and executive education in innovation, entrepreneurship, and Europe–Asia engagement.

Prof. Zhang has served as a visiting professor at several leading universities, including Harvard University, Cornell University, the University of Zurich, Luiss University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Beijing Jiaotong University, collaborating on research, programs, and international academic exchange.

In addition, she plays an active role in international cooperation as Chairwoman of the Greater China Region Committee and Chairwoman of the Kingdom of Bhutan Committee at SwissCham ASIA, supporting cross-border partnerships in innovation, education, economic development, and institutional collaboration.

• Traditional Chinese Medicine and systemic healing

 

Her recent book, Mental Health, Psychiatric Disorders, and the Implications of Long Covid-19, presents an integrated framework connecting Western psychiatry, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and systematic wellbeing principles to address emerging global health challenges.
